83 this morning.  We had a high of 83° yesterday, same as my BG this morning!  So far the wind hasn't been too bad but it is supposed to be windy today and tomorrow and the temp is going to be cooler but so far it is pretty light.  Tomorrow will be the coolest then starting Saturday back to the 80s.
My BIL is going to have a hip replacement Monday so he will be recovering for a few days.  The doctor that will be doing it is the same one that did my surgery when I broke my hip and he is really great.  It is outpatient and they have a surgery center in the same building that the doctor is in.  He will be going home that same day so not nearly as inactivating as when I broke my hip but he will have to spend a few days working with it and the doctor said that using his treadmill would be the best thing for him to do and he doesn't need PT.  His sister and her husband will take him to it which is about a 1 1/2 hour drive and bring him back.  I will probably need to do a few things for him until he gets better but that shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry to hear about your BIL! Hope he recovers quickly!  I am amazed by your description of it being an outpatient surgery and the fast recovery. Wow! That just seems so unreal! Medicine has sure come a long way!

85 this morning.  We had a high of 78° yesterday so a bit cooler and it is supposed to be a bit cooler today then warming back up starting tomorrow.  We are predicted to have high winds today and tomorrow but so far it is pretty calm but I have no doubt that the winds will pick up.
Yeah Barbara the hip replacement sounds like it will be nothing near what the surgery from my broken hip was like.  It will be interesting to see how it goes but the surgeon seems to think it will be pretty easy.  He asked my BIL how the other hip was and he answered not bad and the doctor said, well it will become a problem and probably need the same operation so I hope it does go well.

65° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast is 52°/41° cloudy with showers. At least we don't have any painting that needs to be done inside or outside!

A small divider wall is going to be temporarily set up on one side so the kitties can hide behind it and maybe won't dash for the door as we open it to put the cats in as they return from their trip to TNR. Can't wait till this is all over!

That just blows me away! I will be interested in hearing how it goes for him. I wonder in knee replacement has gotten that "easy" too. (I know it is still surgery with all the potential problems, but the recovery seems extraordinary!)  I might consider it then!

Yesterday's. high was 48° with rain most of the day. Today's forecast is 54°/38° cloudy with rain showers. Tomorrow, dry but cloudy, and then more showers Monday.  Really hope we can  finish enough to start the trapping by Monday at the latest.

99 this morning.  We had a high of 73° yesterday so cooler but warming up starting up today with a predicted high of 79° and then into the high 80s for next week.
Well, all I know about knee replacement is that my SIL had both knees replaced and although it did take her a bit to recover she had no problem.  She is on the heavy side so not sure how that factored in. A neighbor had both of her knees replaced at the same time but I think that is rare.  Usually they only want to do one at a time.

Thanks for the info. Still in gathering info stage and looking for people w/experience with it. I can get by for now but having less constant pain would be a nice thing!

94 this morning.  We had a high of 78° yesterday and it is going to be in the 80s now for the next few days so happy with that before it gets hot.  No rain in sight and it may be over for the season and no wind so that is good.  The plains states are seeing a lot of tornados and quite a lot of damage.  I will take earth quakes any day over that.

Yesterday's high was 58° mostly cloudy. Today's forecast is 58°/38° cloudy and possibly a few showers. Can't wait for it to finally dry out!! It won't happen for a while...Spring being what it is.

94 this morning.  We had a high of 84° yesterday and it looks like we will be in the mid to high 80s for a few days.
I was checking the forecast on the weather channel website and they showed some of the damage from tornados yesterday and it is really quite stunning.
BIL goes in for the hip replacement today but it is not until 11:00 this morning so he won't be getting back until later today.  It will be interesting to see how he does and how long it takes to recover.

59° was the high yesterday with a few periods of wind. Today's forecast is 46°/30° with showers throughout the day. Wet weather for the next few days and then a small chance of snow!

Hope all goes well with your BIL Wally. My friend has a bad hip and is also curious about this surgery. I am for the possibility of my knees and she is for her hip. Does this type of procedure have a specific name besides "hip replacement"? I would be interested how recovery goes. Thanks!

I think that "hip replacement" is the term they use.  My understanding is that they replace the ball and socket part of the hip and one is metal and the other is plastic so they move easy.  When I broke my hip what actually broke was the ball end of the femur and he put it back in place using a rod and screw so not the same.  I think that the problem with his hip is that the socket has worn down and that is what has to be replaced.  I will keep you posted as his recovery goes on.

126 this morning. Woke to a few snow flurries but sunny now 2 hrs later.

56° was the high yesterday, with periods of rain throughout day. Today's forecast is 47°/29° with a mix of weather from flurries, to showers, to just cloudy, to partly sunny. I foresee all of the above at different points in the day.  ~ cat ~

Laundry today and gathering blankets for the cat boxes. Getting food dishes ready and making a Chewy box short divider wall for cats to hide behind as we bring new ones in. Still much little stuff to be done.
