Yeah, the all mighty dollar for sure!!

Cat update:

It is 1:40pm. we have only trapped 3 but they are all unfixed so that is the best scenario. It is drizzly and cold and because it was so much later than they are used to eating, they all scattered to do their daily routines...among which is catching mice! Hopefully at dinner time, now that the traps are set we'll catch more.

2nd update: total for the day only 8 as of 5;30PM.   It was pouring rain all afternoon and we finally gave up. BUT the good news is 6 of them are needing spay/neutering so these were the most important to catch first. More tomorrow!

105 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 71° and windy as the front went through but no rain was with it.  Warming back up to the 80s starting today.
Off in a bit to get my claws clipped and then get a chest X-ray for my cardiologist and then a PSA test for my urologist so kind of busy but all at the same place so not too bad.
Type 2 since 1993.  Control with LCHF diet.

113 this morning.

Low 60's yesterday lots of rain. Today's forecast is 53°/37° cold wind, mostly rain but feels like it could snow.

4  more cats this morning, one of which goes to vet. Have to leave soon for dr appt.

95 this morning. A bit warmer yesterday with a high of 78° and heading into the 80s today and the rest of the week.

I got my toe nails clipped, chest X-ray and blood test all done yesterday so glad to have it all done.  It may not seem like much but it is for me but then kind of nice to have things to do.

123 this morning.

60° was the high yesterday with lots of wind. Today's forecast is 48°/37° cloudy, maybe a few showers.

Had my Gastro appt yesterday. All is going well with my liver, he said all my functions look in the normal range and my AST has vastly improved. He said giving up all alcohol has made a drastic improvement in all my liver functions. He said he was actually amazed at how much better everything looked. Said I only need yearly checks from now on but because of what had been going on with my liver he wants a liver MRI every 6 months. All in all that is great news!

Once the kitties are all settled hopefully I can take a lot of time to rest and get rid of all the aches and pains.

104 this morning.  We had a high of 87° yesterday so warming back up and we should be in the 80s for the rest of the week and into the 90s next week.  This is where I like it before it gets hotter which is coming soon.

Dentist appointment went well yesterday but I did spend a lot of time there with X-rays, cleaning, then more X-rays then an exam.  I have one tooth that has been loose for some time and will have to address that at some time but right now it hasn't been bothering me so I am going to put it off. 

Hope you get done with the kitties soon and can get some needed rest Barbara.

136 this morning.

51° was the high yesterday again windy and felt cold to the bone out side. Rain began late evening. Today's forecast is 54°/36° and rainy. It rained all night and is supposed to rain into the afternoon then tomorrow start to get nice again. Just makes this last bit of trapping miserable.

I will be so happy when this is wrapped up. I want my kitties to run free again and enjoy the garage when it is not a prison!

No catches early today. The count for the last 3 days is:

Tuesday.  7

Total.  33  (with 11 of those needing to be fixed)

95 this morning.  We had a bit lower high of 76° yesterday and it is supposed to get back into the low 80s today. 
I spent yesterday messing around with my computer and didn't get much more done.
BIL went to an appointment with the surgeon that did his hip replacement yesterday and he is able to drive himself and gets around well, still using the walker for support but the doctor said he is doing really well and does not need PT as he is getting plenty of exercise by walking he is doing better than most this soon after the operation.

Yesterday was 53° cloudy and rainy. Today is supposed to be 67°/37° and cloudy but no rain. Warming to near 80° by the weekend!!

So glad to hear your BIL is doing so well Wally!! I can't believe he is driving on his own already! It is so soon after surgery. I am in awe of the whole process!

Really late to post this morning. Up at 6:15 and was going to reset traps when I noticed one of the tipped cats that is still loose sitting on the porch. I decided to feed it and watch as it ate then bring the food in. I couldn't justify putting it through the trauma of trapping when we are so close to the end when it would just go to the garage. It did draw out another cat I hadn't seen lately but that one ran away quickly.

My friend brought over the last cat that was fixed early too. She agreed with what I had done and also that we only had 3-4 cats left, 2 of which have been tipped, one most likely and the 4th unknown but I'd guess tipped. I'll leave traps up today and night and that's it. We could be trapping for a year catching a stray feral from around but it wouldn't have been one that was a regular here and that is just not worth it. I want my cats to be out of their "prison" so that I can clean it out and hopefully it can become a refuge for them going forward.

So grand total is:

34 total trapped
11 of those fixed
 4 at large, 2 definitely tipped, 2 unknown but I'm guessing at least 1 of those tipped and
    maybe the second one tipped too

38 cats total.  That number feels about right for my colony, so I do think we have done all we can. I never want to have to do this again.

The sad part of the story is that 3 of the females they fixed had recently given birth and probably already weaned the kittens. We have had a sudden appearance of 5 sand cranes and do have local blue herons both of which I have just learned eat small animals. If the new mothers had their kittens and they came out in an exposed area they probably met a sad end. I never saw a single very young kitten this season so I think nature controlled that population. Breaks my heart, but it is nature. Hopefully no more kittens here anymore.

135 this morning.

66° was the high yesterday and sunny. Today's forecast is 76°/41° and sunny. It is going to be a beautiful weekend and the next week at this point looks sunny and beautiful too!

After all the clean up it will be so nice to see the kitties back out playing in the sun!!

107 this morning.  We had a high of 79° yesterday and it is going to be in the low 80s today heading to the 90s by the weekend.

Yesterday's high was 70° and today's forecast is 79°/47° with a sunny day.

Hope I have the patience to let the kitties do their own thing getting used to eating in their house. They just hurt my heart sitting at the slider waiting for their food there and I have to ignore them. I know they will eventually figure it out but I'll be worried/guilty until they do!!

104 this morning .  We did manage to just get to 80° yesterday but it was cloudy and we even got some light sprinkles. 

I am pretty sure they will find the food soon enough.
