Can eating jaggery increase diabetes?

In small amounts, eating sugar probably won't directly raise your risk of getting diabetes. But, like all sweeteners, jaggery is high in carbs and can make your blood sugar rise if you eat a lot of it. Because jaggery has a high glycemic index, it can make your blood sugar rise quickly. People who have diabetes or are at risk of getting diabetes should watch how much jaggery and other sugary foods they eat to keep their blood sugar levels fixed. As part of a healthy diet, jaggery should only be eaten in small amounts. Whole, raw foods should also be your main focus to help control blood sugar and lower the risk of problems linked to diabetes.
