Why would there be any bad results. You are taking things up in very small increments.
Your crystal lady is really troublesome.

I never know how my knees are going to respond to things or my back. But they are doing fine so far!

Yes indeed, the crystal lady is troublesome, but she is buying up my crystals. She has been getting questions from other dealers about where she get the things she has gotten from me but doesn't share. I think she is a bit afraid I might come across some of them, so she wants to get all she can before that might happen. I just deal with her crazy energy while she is here and put her out of my mind the rest of the time.

I didn't really do anything particular yesterday, just the normal stuff. I did do a really small laundry to wash the new sheets I got on Amazon. A quick visit from the crystal lady to pick up her order which she paid in full instead of payments which made me happy. I think the fact that it is lighter so much later now, I am walking longer each day because it is light out. Wintertime I settle in the recliner much earlier because it is dark and cold out.

Went into town to deposit crystal lady's check and at PO got my check for my Jury duty, $46 and change for a couple hours of my time (and the added stress of it all). Not bad. Plus I checked the results of the Senate session and the bill that make 75 the cut off for jury duty passed!! Yay! No more jury duty for me!!

I also did a quick run through the grocery store for some fresh fruit and veggies. The rest of the day. was just around the house chores and some tiding up in the cat's house.

I did a fair amount of yard work yesterday. Cut down suckers from a tree by the garage and hauled them near the end of my driveway in a pile, then trimmed the fir tree that had begun to hang over my driveway. And finally did some weeding around some of the tiny shoots of day lilies in front on the front deck. I maybe could have done more but my left knee buckled once and I took heed and stopped right away. Walked it out a bit and rested it the rest of the day. Today it feels fine so will work outside again some.

That is all that is on the agenda for today.

That's a lot of work. I did some TM walk/climb, but not much. It is very hot an humid here.

More work outside. Trimmed a miniature maple that has grown suckers all around the base. Then I noticed half of the tree was dead, so I left the suckers on that side. This tree appears to be two types of maple grafted together. In the Autumn when the leaves turn, almost exactly 1/2 of the tree remains green and the other half turns bright red. The red side is the side that appears to have died. Hopefully one of the suckers that has grown quite large will take over that part.

Next was cutting out some sort of bush that was growing out from under my front deck. How it started to grow I have no clue but it was coming out of the latticework on the sides so it had to go. Same with some volunteer Aspen trees coming up near the side porch.  I never realized how invasive aspens are! They are coming up all over and I haven't really kept up with cutting them down. They look gorgeous on the mountainsides as they turn gold in the Autumn but not so much in the yard...

Last project was digging up a lilac shoot from an old bush and transplanting it along my fence line to begin to create a shield from neighbor's work trucks. Don't know if it will take, hope so, if not I'll buy a couple plants at a nursery for now and try transplanting again earlier in the season next year before they leaf out.

Good thing I did all the yard work I did the last couple of days as the weather turned last night and now it is rainy and cloudy and not work outside weather.

Today will be a bit of a rest day, probably just as well...

Mostly just chores in the house. There was some time outside checking as the irrigation ditch filled and backfilled the creek on the side of the house to make sure all the cats were on the right side of the water and remembered where the bridge across is. I'd stand there and call out to the couple I could see on my other piece of property and eventually they came across.

My transplanted lilac looked like it was doing fine after the night before's rain, not droopy at all. The cooler/cloudy weather is helping that get reestablished well.

It was a drizzly, cloudy day and I planned to stay in after I took garbage up to the road. But then I thought that since the first transplanted lilac was doing so well, I'd try a couple more while the ground was semi damp. I tried in 4 different areas where I have large bushes, but just couldn't dig in any of the spots. I think I'll try a couple. nurseries in town after my dentist appt, to see about buying a couple new plants.

Lots of driving and then sitting and waiting at the dentist office so didn't get much walking done. I didn't even have time to get to a nursery to look for lilacs. There is one family owned one near here. I may go to today, as I'd like to get the new plants in the ground as soon as possible.

A friend and I had been playing phone tag for a couple of days and finally connected yesterday. We talked and hour and a half! I always walk around the house when I am on the phone, so I got a lot of steps in during that time! Definitely helped the count for the day.

I did some more yard work too, transplanting several more lilac starts and cutting down small offshoots from the aspen tree at the creek's edge. There are still a ton of those left. I'm using a hand pruner and am beginning to think I should look into getting a small battery operated hand saw to use. I have to go to Ace and see if there is anything I can handle and be competent enough to maintain. I'm a little uncomfortable around motorized tools.

I had given up doing much yard work any more with all the problems I was having with my hands, but since the trigger finger surgeries, my hands are so much better, I can do a lot more outside than before and I'm not doing it pushing through pain. Arthritis kicks in sometimes, but nothing like the pain I was in before!
